Vortex

26 Apr 2018Email

Vortex is a spiral formed by the rapid spin of the fluid as it rotates. For a centrifugal pump, the resulting swirling water flow is a vortex.

In hydraulic engineering, vertical axis vortex is a common hydraulic phenomenon. Under certain discharge conditions, the vertical axis vortex may be generated by the inlet and outlet of the power station. The presence of vortices will worsen the flow of imports, reduce overcurrent, reduce power generation, exacerbate water flow pulsations, and even damage hydraulic structures and turbines.
