Coking High-Pressure Ammonia Water Pump
In the production workshop of a coking plant, the high-pressure ammonia water pump may seem insignificant, yet it is an indispensable critical equipment and a core guarantee for the coke oven to meet environmental standards and maintain stable production. It is often confused with ordinary low-pressure ammonia water pumps. In fact, they have clearly divided responsibilities and perform completely different functions.
Simply put, low-pressure ammonia water pumps feature large-flow circulation, with the core function of cooling coke oven gas and stabilizing working conditions. By contrast, high-pressure ammonia water pumps are designed for pressurization and atomization to suppress smoke and dust, specifically tackling the problem of smoke overflow during coke charging operations of coke ovens. A large volume of raw coke oven gas and smoke tends to be generated during coal charging for stamp-charged coking. If released directly, they will not only pollute the plant environment but also cause energy waste. The high-pressure ammonia water pump is developed to address this issue.
Its working principle is straightforward. When the pump operates, it greatly pressurizes circulating ammonia water to form high-pressure water jets, which are then atomized and sprayed through special nozzles. The finely atomized ammonia water droplets cover a wide area. They can rapidly adsorb and capture smoke produced in the coal charging process, settle raw coke oven gas quickly, and effectively curb smoke overflow, realizing smokeless coal charging. This makes the pump vital for environmental emission reduction in coking workshops.
Meanwhile, the start-up and shutdown of the high-pressure ammonia water pump may easily trigger pressure fluctuations in the collecting main. Improper operation can lead to gas leakage in the coke oven and shorten the service life of the oven body. Therefore, standardized daily operation is mandatory. Scheduling departments and operation teams must be notified in advance before starting or stopping the pump, and operation procedures shall be strictly followed to avoid abrupt changes in working conditions.
Routine maintenance is essential for long-term stable equipment operation. During daily inspections, priority should be given to checking pump vibration, operating noise and sealing conditions. Impurities in nozzles shall be cleared timely to prevent blockage. The unobstructed flow of pipelines and wear of components shall be inspected periodically. Aged seals and wearing parts need prompt replacement. In addition, circulating ammonia water must be kept clean and free of impurities to reduce equipment wear and failures at the source.
In summary, the high-pressure ammonia water pump acts as an "environmental guardian" for coke oven production. Though it looks unremarkable, it firmly holds the environmental bottom line of coking production and ensures stable operation and a clean workshop. Proper operation and maintenance of this equipment guarantee the efficient, safe and green operation of coking production.
