Submersible pump cable wiring method

20 Jan 2021Email

Submersible pumps usually only have lead-out cables when they leave the factory, and users need to connect additional cables when installing them. Therefore, you must pay attention to the correct method when connecting cables, otherwise it will have a great impact on the use of submersible pumps.

Submersible pump cable wiring method

The following describes the cable wiring method of the submersible pump:

1. Strip the outer sheath and main insulation layer of the submersible pump cable to expose the 35-40mm copper wire, trim the rubber near the core into a cone, polish the oxide layer on the core, and use alcohol (preferably Use hydrochloric acid) to clean the core, the insulating layer and the sheath layer to be wrapped and let them dry naturally.

  2, connector

   1) Power cable 2) Polyvinyl chloride tape 3) Self-adhesive butyl rubber tape 4) φ1mm copper wire 5) Soldering 6) Leading cable

  3. Prepare 500W electric soldering iron, rosin, solder, 1mm bare copper wire and insulation tape.

  4. Tighten the cable core evenly with bare copper wire, heat it with an electric soldering iron to infiltrate the tin, and require infiltration and evenness. Use a file to repair the welded part (no burrs and sharp shuttles are allowed), and wipe the part to be bandaged with alcohol again, and dry it.

  5. First half-fold three layers with self-adhesive butyl tape, and gradually extend to the outside of the core. When bandaging, the tape must be stretched by 200%, and the outer layer is then half-wrapped with polyvinyl chloride tape for three layers (public number: pump housekeeper), and gradually extended outwards to ensure that the bandaging part is not shorter than 200mm.

  6. When the three-core cable is connected, the positions of the three connectors should be staggered by a certain distance to prevent short circuit.

  7. Wiring method when the lead cable is double lead cable

  (1) After the cable is connected, measure the insulation resistance between the cable and the motor (when no water is added), and the value is not less than 150 megohms

   (2) After the motor is filled with water, the insulation resistance of the motor winding should be measured again and it should not be less than 40 megohms

  (3) Power on and test the steering (the time should not exceed 2 seconds). Mark the consecutive positions

(4) Start to go down the well: the submersible pump will continuously measure the insulation resistance while going down the well to observe the change in order to prevent the wall of the well from breaking the cable insulation. If the insulation is found to drop below 0.5 megohm, the unit should be brought up to detect the cause . If there are no accidents, you can start the trial run through the steps mentioned above after the well is down.
