Causes and solutions for leakage of mechanical seals of horizontal multistage centrifugal pumps
Mechanical seals, also known as end seals, are high-precision precision parts that have high requirements for design, machining, and assembly quality. When using mechanical seals, the various factors of using mechanical seals should be analyzed to make the mechanical seals suitable for the technical requirements of the various pumps and the medium requirements and sufficient lubrication conditions to ensure long-term reliable operation of the seals. It has a pair of end faces perpendicular to the axis of rotation, which, under the action of fluid pressure and compensating for the mechanical external elastic force, rely on the fit of the auxiliary seal to keep fit with the other end and slide relative to each other to prevent fluid leakage.
Causes and solutions for leakage of mechanical seals:
1. During the test run, the pump is not filled with water or the external water supply is not opened to the machine to start the pump operation, or the water is running during use; the pump is checked. Observe the mechanical seal damage and replace the mechanical seal to cultivate the correct method of operation.
2. The machine seal installation is too tight or too loose; also remove the pump inspection, observe and check the mechanical seal damage. Also check the dynamic and static rings of the machine seal. If there are no grinding or scratches, you can re-install the adjustment. If the moving and stationary rings of the machine seal have been worn or scratched, replace the new machine seal. Check if the length of the bushing meets the requirements, or if the seal of the machine-sealed wave tube or O-ring is too loose, too large, and out of specification. Check why the spindle is moving too much. Bearing damage, replacement of bearings; bearing gland, suspension, spindle and other related dimensions have errors, replace parts with poor size.
3. The liquid contains particles; understand the liquid situation (with or without debris, etc.). Demolition of the pump, observe and check the damage of the mechanical seal, there will be debris, welding slag or sediment in the pump chamber and the sealing chamber, which will cause damage to the machine seal, and the machine seal must be replaced.
4. The selection is not correct (the machine seal that is suitable for the use condition is not selected according to the use requirements, especially the environment for conveying the corrosive liquid); the pumping liquid composition, temperature and corrosiveness are known in detail. Remove the pump check, observe and check the mechanical seal damage and re-select the machine seal suitable for the use condition according to the temperature, composition and corrosiveness of the liquid.
5. The quality of the machine seal itself; the main key size of each part of the pump inspection machine to see which parts are unqualified, if there is a need to replace the parts, immediately replace; if there is no need to replace the parts, to ensure that the pump is normal Replace the entire set as necessary.
