The function of feed pump, common faults and solutions are discussed

07 Apr 2024Email

The main function of the feed pump is to lift the deoxygenated water from the water tank or other water storage equipment and transport it into the boiler to supplement the evaporation of water in the boiler, so the feed pump is also called the boiler feed pump, because the pressure in the boiler is relatively large, to transport the deoxygenated water into the boiler, usually use the pump that can withstand high temperature and high pressure, the current use is a multistage centrifugal pump, The pump not only has a wide flow range, but also can have a high head, from 200-1800 meters can be used, among them, DG type multi-stage centrifugal pump is designed for boiler water supply professional boiler feed water pump. In this article, the feed pump manufacturer Changsha pump factory will introduce the main function of the feed pump, common faults and solutions.

First, the causes and solutions of no water:

The feed pump is an important equipment to ensure the normal operation of the water supply system, but sometimes there will be no flow problem. The cause of the lack of water flow may be a lack of water supply to the pump or a blockage inside the pump. The first way to solve this problem is to check that the water supply to the feed pump is normal. Make sure the water supply is adequate and not clogged or blocked. If the water supply is normal, but still no water out, then there may be a blockage in the pump. At this time, you can remove the pump body, clean up the blockage, and then reinstall and check whether it is back to normal. In addition to the water supply and the blockage of the pump body, the problem of no flow can also be related to the power supply of the pump. The second way to solve this problem is to check that the power supply to the feed pump is normal. First, determine whether the power is turned on and check whether the power cord is plugged in. If the power supply is normal, restart the feed water pump. Sometimes, some electronic failure can cause the pump to stop supplying water, and restarting may solve the problem. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to call in a professional to repair or replace the faulty part.

Second, the cause of loud noise and solutions:

Noise generated when the feed pump is working is also a common fault. Excessive noise may be related to the loosening of the internal structure of the pump body. The first way to solve this problem is to check whether the structure of the feed pump is loose. Remove the pump body, check and tighten the parts inside the pump body to ensure that they are not loose. In addition, you can also check that the base of the feed pump is tight, because the loose base will also cause excessive noise. If the above methods do not solve the problem, you may need to conduct a more thorough inspection and repair, or replace the pump body. The reason for the excessive noise may also be related to the insufficient cooling of the feed pump when it is running. The second way to solve this problem is to check that the cooling system of the feed pump is working properly. Ensure sufficient coolant in the pump cooling system and proper circulation flow. If the cooling system is normal, but the noise problem persists, it may be necessary to check the bearings and seals of the pump for wear. Wear of bearings and seals can also lead to excessive noise, requiring replacement or repair.

Third, the causes of high pump temperature and solutions:

In the working process of the feed pump, the temperature is too high is a common problem. The high temperature may be related to the heat generated by friction inside the pump is not dissipated in time. The first way to solve this problem is to check that the cooling system of the feed pump is normal. Make sure the coolant is circulating properly in the cooling system and check the pump's cooler for blockage. You can also check whether there is dust on the surface of the pump body, and removing dust can improve the heat dissipation effect. If the cooling system is working properly, but the temperature problem still exists, it may be necessary to check whether the impeller and bearings of the pump are worn and need to be replaced or repaired.

The reason for the high temperature may also be related to the operating state of the feed pump. The second way to solve this problem is to check that the operation of the feed pump is normal. Ensure that the working load and running time of the pump meet the design requirements to avoid overload or long continuous operation. In addition, regularly check whether the motor of the pump is running normally to avoid overheating of the motor. If the operating condition is normal, but the temperature problem still exists, a more thorough inspection and repair may be required, or a new pump body may be replaced.
