Centrifugal pump Q&A series3

Q:How do you see from the indication of the ammeter that the operation of the centrifugal pump is abnormal?

A: The current of the centrifugal pump has no-load current, normal current and overload current. If the current meter indicates that the ammeter is in the no-load position, it means that the water machine does not have water or even absorb water; if it is in the normal current position, it generally indicates that the water machine is in normal water supply; if it is in the overload current indicating position, it means The water machine is overloaded or has mechanical friction, but the pump is often also in the water. If the current indication value is smaller than the normal indication value, the water supply to the pump is too small. If the current indication fluctuates greatly, it indicates that the water supply is abnormal or there is an electrical failure.

Q:How do you see from the voltmeter that the power supply of the water machine is abnormal?

A: Looking at the voltmeter indication is the easiest way to judge that the power supply is normal and abnormal. Looking at the voltmeter is mainly to observe two values: one is to see the level of the voltage; the other is to see if the three-phase voltage is balanced. Under normal circumstances, the voltage deviation value is normal from 5% to 10%, and the deviation is more than 5% to 10%. The specific deviation allowable value is related to the voltage level. In addition, the indication value of the voltmeter fluctuates smallly, which is normal, and the fluctuation is not normal.

Q:How to judge whether the pump is normally watered from the situation of the suction well?

A: The suction wells of each pump in the station are connected in general. It is mainly based on experience and comparison to judge whether the pump is normally watered from the situation of the suction well. Generally speaking, when the pump is turned on, if the water level of the suction well drops significantly, it means that the water pump has been flooded, which is much lower, indicating that the water is large; on the contrary, if the drop is small, the water is small; No change before or after means that the pump has no water. If it is checked during normal operation, it is necessary to judge whether the water machine is normally watered by observation and comparison of the water flow conditions.

Q:How to judge whether the centrifugal pump system is running normally from the vacuum gauge and pressure gauge of the import and export?

A: A centrifugal pump equipped with a vacuum gauge. If the pointer of the vacuum gauge is in the position equivalent to the suction head and the pointer swing is small, the water machine is operating normally; if the indication of the vacuum gauge is high, and the pointer is in a strong swing , it means that the water on the water machine is not normal.

Where the pressure gauge is installed, if the pointer of the pressure gauge refers to the position with the total discharge head, and the pointer does not swing too much, the water machine is operating normally; if the gauge indication of the pressure gauge is small and the swing is severe, the water is indicated The machine is not working properly.

If the pump is running normally and the indications of the vacuum gauge and pressure gauge are not normal, then check the pump inlet and outlet lines for cracks, blockages or leaks.
