What is a micro water pump?

23 Feb 2022Email

Micro water pump: Usually, the machine that lifts liquid, transports liquid or increases pressure of liquid, that is, converts the mechanical energy of the prime mover into liquid energy to achieve the purpose of pumping liquid, is collectively referred to as a water pump. The general composition of the water pump is the driving part + the pump body. There are two interfaces on the pump body, one in and one out.

From the point of view of volume: the volume of the miniature water pump is much smaller than that of our common water pump. The smallest volume of the micro water pump is the size of a canned Coke bottle, and the largest volume is the size of a large bottle of Coke;

In terms of weight: the lightest is only a few hundred grams, and the heaviest is about three kilograms;

From the voltage point of view: they are all 12V or 24V DC, which is also a safe voltage;

From the perspective of flow: the smallest flow is only a few liters per minute, and the largest is more than one hundred liters per minute;

Open from the pressure: the smallest pressure is a few bars, and the largest is a dozen bars;

advantage:

(1) The torque (power) is large, and the pressure (lift) of the brushed motor and the brushless motor of the same size is much larger than that of the brushless motor.

(2) The flow rate of high-grade brushed motors can be much larger than that of brushless motors.

shortcoming:

(1) Carbon brushes have a certain lifespan, and cannot reach tens of thousands of hours of lifespan like brushless motors; even high-end ones have some gaps with them. But it can be used for non-continuous 24-hour operation occasions.

(2) The high-end cost is high; while the cheap low-end brushed water pump has a short lifespan, only a few hundred hours.

(3) The liquid should not contain impurities such as particles and oil;

2. Brushless motor type DC water pump "Shenzhen-Zhongke-Century": The motor type brushless DC water pump is composed of a brushless DC motor and an impeller. The shaft of the motor is connected with the impeller, and there is a gap between the stator and the rotor of the water pump. After a long time of use, water will penetrate into the motor, which increases the possibility of the motor being burned out.

Advantages: Brushless DC motors have been standardized (such as ordinary fans or brushless motors on DVDs), and are produced in large quantities by specialized manufacturers, with relatively low cost and high efficiency.

Disadvantage: Not suitable for loads that are constantly changing in size and direction (similar to a ramming machine on a construction site, this application in industry has high requirements on the motor). The grade is not high, and it is prone to failure.
