How to choose a miniature water pump

22 Feb 2022Email

The volume of the miniature water pump is much smaller than our common water pump. The smallest volume of the micro water pump is the size of a canned Coke bottle, and the largest volume is the size of a large bottle of Coke;

(1) The working medium at room temperature (0-50℃), simply pumping water or solution, not using both water and gas, but requires self-priming ability, and has requirements for flow and output pressure.

Note: The pumping working medium is water, non-oily, not strong corrosive liquid and other solutions (can not contain solid particles, etc.), must have self-priming function, you can choose the following pumps:

1. The flow requirements are large (about 4-20 liters/min), and the pressure requirements are not high (about 1-3 kg), mainly used for water circulation, water sampling, lifting, etc., requiring low noise, long life, high self-priming Cheng, etc., you can choose BSP, CSP and other series;

2. The flow requirements are not high (about 1-5 liters/min), but the pressure is high (about 2-11 kg), mainly used for spraying, pressurization, car washing, etc. It does not need to work under high pressure or heavy load for a long time , you can choose ASP, HSP and other series;

3. For tea table pumping, spraying, etc., the volume is required to be as small as possible, the flow rate is small, and the noise is small (about 0.1 ~ 3 liters/min), and ASP series can be selected.

(2) The working medium at room temperature (0-50℃) needs to pump water or gas (may be mixed with water and gas or idling, dry running), and pay attention to performance such as volume, noise, and continuous use.

Description: It is required to be used for both water and gas, and it can run dry for a long time without damaging the pump; it can run continuously for 24 hours; the volume is particularly small and the noise is low, but the requirements for flow and pressure are not high.

1. Use a micro pump to pump air or vacuum, but sometimes liquid water will enter the pump cavity.

2. The micro-pump is required to be able to pump both air and water.

3. Use a micro pump to pump water, but sometimes the pump may have no water to pump, and it is in a "dry running" state.

Some traditional pumps are afraid of "dry running", which can even damage the pump. The PHW and WKA series products are essentially a composite function pump, which integrates the functions of a vacuum pump and a water pump. Some people call it "vacuum pump". So in the absence of water it will vacuum and when there is water it will pump. Whether it is in the pumping state or the pumping state, it belongs to the normal work category, and there is no such thing as "dry running" damage.

4. Mainly use micro-pumps to pump water, but do not want to manually add "water diversion" before pumping (some pumps need to manually add some "water diversion" before working, so that the pump can pump up the low water, otherwise the pump cannot pump water or even damaged), that is, the pump is expected to have a "self-priming" function. At this time, you can choose PHW and WKA series products. Their advantages are: when there is no contact with water, it will vacuumize. After forming a vacuum, the water will be pressed up by air pressure, and then the water will be pumped.

For the above applications, PHW and WKA series can be selected.

(3) High temperature working medium (0-100℃), such as using micro water pump for water circulation heat dissipation, water cooling, or pumping high temperature, high temperature water vapor, high temperature liquid, etc., it is necessary to use micro water pump (high temperature type):

1. The temperature is between 50-80℃, you can choose the miniature water and gas pump PHW600B (high temperature medium type) or WKA series high temperature medium type, the maximum temperature resistance is 80℃ or 100℃;

2. If the temperature is between 50-100°C, the WKA series high temperature medium type must be selected, and the maximum temperature resistance temperature is 100°C; (when extracting high-temperature water (water temperature exceeds about 80°C), due to the gas precipitation in the water, It will greatly reduce the pumping flow. For the specific flow, please refer to here: (This is not a quality problem of the pump, please pay attention when selecting models!))

(4) There is a large requirement for the flow (more than 20 liters/min), but the medium contains a small amount of oil, solid particles, residues, etc.

Description: In the medium to be pumped

1. It contains a small number of soft solid particles with a small diameter (such as fish feces, sewage sludge, residues, etc.), but the viscosity should not be too large, and it is best not to have entanglements such as hair;

2. The working medium is allowed to contain a small amount of oil (such as a small amount of oil floating on the sewage surface), but not all oil!

3. Large flow requirements (more than 20 liters/minute):

(1) When the self-priming function is not required, and the pump cannot be put into water, the solid particles can be cut into smaller particles: FSP ultra-large flow series can be selected.

(2) When self-priming is required and the pump can be put into water, micro submersible pumps QZ (medium flow 35-45 liters/min), QD (large flow 85-95 liters/min), QC (large flow 135- 145L/min) three series of micro submersible pumps and DC submersible pumps. There are several hundred grams, and the heaviest is about three kilograms;

From the voltage point of view: they are all 12V or 24V DC, which is also a safe voltage;

From the perspective of flow: the smallest flow is only a few liters per minute, and the largest is more than one hundred liters per minute;

Open from the pressure: the smallest pressure is a few bars, and the largest is a dozen bars;

advantage:

(1) The power is large. The brushed motor and the brushless motor of the same size have a much larger pressure (lift) than the brushless motor.

(2) The flow rate of high-grade brushed motors can be much larger than that of brushless motors.

shortcoming:

(1) Carbon brushes have a certain lifespan, and cannot reach tens of thousands of hours of lifespan like brushless motors; even high-end ones have some gaps with them. But it can be used for non-continuous 24-hour operation occasions.

(2) The high-end cost is high; while the cheap low-end brushed water pump has a short lifespan, only a few hundred hours.

(3) The liquid should not contain impurities such as particles and oil;

2. Brushless motor type DC water pump "Shenzhen-Zhongke-Century": The motor type brushless DC water pump is composed of a brushless DC motor and an impeller. The shaft of the motor is connected with the impeller, and there is a gap between the stator and the rotor of the water pump. After a long time of use, water will penetrate into the motor, which increases the possibility of the motor being burned out.

Advantages: Brushless DC motors have been standardized (such as ordinary fans or brushless motors on DVDs), and are produced in large quantities by specialized manufacturers, with relatively low cost and high efficiency.

Disadvantage: Not suitable for loads that are constantly changing in size and direction (similar to a ramming machine on a construction site, this application in industry has high requirements on the motor). The grade is not high, and it is prone to failure.
