Preparation steps for operation and commissioning of horizontal multistage centrifugal pump

18 Jan 2022Email

Preparation steps for operation and commissioning of horizontal multistage centrifugal pump. When the horizontal multistage centrifugal pump is commissioned, the following steps must be followed.
Note: Professionals must work with necessary protective measures. Wiring, reset, and operation of equipment with residual current (leakage) must be approved by technicians.

Horizontal multistage pump test run

Interface: Check connecting screws and plugs, auxiliary pipelines
Lubrication: Rinse the bearing frame cavity with light oil and drain, and fill with lubricating oil.
Calibration: Remove the coupling cover, check the calibration, and ensure that the shaft rotates freely.
Shaft seal: Check the shaft seal.
Perfusion of Multistage Pumps
Horizontal multi-stage pump inversion

Fully open the shut-off valve of the inlet line
If there is (see installation process) the exhaust hole should be opened (the exhaust hole in the pump body of the horizontal multistage pump is incorrect)
When using a mechanical seal, the seal cavity should be provided with a vent hole
Turn the rotor slowly
When the horizontal multi-stage pump is pumping into the medium without air bubbles, close the exhaust valve
Install the coupling guard
Horizontal multistage pump suction

Fully open the shut-off valve of the inlet line
If there is an exhaust hole, it should be opened (the exhaust hole in the pump body is incorrect)
When the shaft seal of the horizontal multistage pump is used as a mechanical seal, the sealing cavity should be provided with an exhaust hole
Filling the horizontal multi-stage pump (the suction pipe must be equipped with a bottom valve)
Slowly turn the multistage pump rotor
When the horizontal multi-stage pumping medium has no air bubbles, close the exhaust valve
Multistage Pump Mounting Coupling Cover
Note: Before starting the horizontal multistage pump, the suction line, centrifugal pump body and shaft seal cavity must be filled with liquid.

Check: After the horizontal multi-stage pump is filled, check the direction of rotation and whether it runs smoothly by momentarily turning on the power to the motor (see the direction of the rotation arrow on the bearing frame).
If installed, open and lock the valve on the minimum flow control line.
If the horizontal multistage pump balance line returns to the suction vessel, the valve on this line should also be opened and locked.
