Tips for troubleshooting water pumps
1. The pump does not rotate when starting
Reasons: The packing is too tight or the impeller and the pump body are jammed and blocked by debris; the pump shaft, bearing, and leakage ring are rusted; the pump shaft is severely bent.
Solutions: loosen the packing, dredge the water channel: disassemble the pump body to remove debris or rust; correct the bent shaft or replace the pump shaft with a new one.
2. The water pump does not output water after starting
Reasons: there is air in the pump or the gas in the water inlet pipe; the bottom valve is not closed tightly and the filling is not full, the vacuum pump packing is seriously leaking; the gate valve or the flapping door is not closed tightly.
Solutions: remove debris, replace the damaged rubber pad, change the direction of the valve plate; press tightly or replace the new packing, close the gate valve or tap the door; increase the amount of water filling, until there is no air bubble at the vent screw plug; replace it with Cracked pipe water; reduce the head and press the nozzle of the pump into the water 0.5 meters.
3. Insufficient flow
Reasons: the actual head of the water pump exceeds the allowable head; the speed is not matched or the belt is slipping, and the speed is low; the blade installation angle of the axial flow pump is too small; the suction lift is too high; the bottom valve, pipeline and impeller are partially blocked or impeller is missing; the water outlet pipe is leaking severe.
Solutions: reduce the head, restore the rated speed, remove the belt dirt and adjust the belt tightness; adjust the blade angle, reduce the installation position of the water pump; tighten the gland, seal the leaking part of the water pump, tighten the packing or replace the packing; remove the blockage, Replace the impeller; replace the leakage ring to block the leak.
4. The flow rate has changed from large to small
Reasons: The filter screen or the bell mouth is gradually blocked by debris; the dynamic water level is lowered, and the water inlet pipe is not submerged in depth enough.
Solutions: remove debris and increase the depth of water in the bottom valve.
5. The water is interrupted during operation
No water or intermittent water output, low water output.
①The motor does not start, remove the circuit fault;
②The pipeline is blocked, clear the blockage;
③The pipeline is broken, repaired or replaced;
④The water filter is clogged to remove the clogging;
⑤ The suction port is exposed to the surface of the water. If the discharge pump is still ineffective, it is recommended to change the pump;
⑥The electric pump is reversed, and the phase sequence of the power line is changed;
⑦The pump casing sealing ring and impeller are damaged, replace with new ones.
6. The motor cannot start, accompanied by a buzzing sound
①If one phase is open, repair the line;
②The bearing holds the shaft, repair or replace;
③There is foreign matter in the impeller and the pump body is stuck, remove the foreign matter;
④The voltage is low, adjust the voltage.
7. The current is too large, the ammeter pointer swings
①Sweep the rotor cavity and replace the guide bearing;
②The relative rotation of the shaft and the bearing is not flexible. Replace or repair the bearing;
③Due to the serious wear and tear of the thrust bearing, the blade rotation and the sealing ring are worn out. Replace the thrust bearing or thrust plate;
④The shaft is bent and the bearing is not concentric. Send it to the cramp factory for repair.
8. The insulation resistance of the motor winding to the ground is low
The motor windings and cable joints or cables are damaged. Replace the windings and repair the joints or cables.
9. Severe vibration when the unit is running
①The motor rotor is unbalanced. Except for the loose bolts that can be tightened, the rest of the faults are sent to the manufacturer for handling;
②The pump impeller is unbalanced;
③The motor or pump shaft is bent.
10. The connecting bolt is loose
Reasons: there is debris in the pipeline or the water inlet; the packing is worn, loose, and the water seal pipe is blocked; the impeller is broken or loose; the dynamic water level drops sharply.
Solutions: clear the blockage, replace the packing, dredge the water pipe groove, install the water seal correctly; tighten or replace the impeller; lower the installation position of the water pump, or wait for the water level to rise before starting the machine.
