Why centrifugal pump head and flow rate meets the requirements but the efficiency is low
Centrifugal pumps sometimes have problems with head flow requirements but low efficiency. What is the cause of this problem?
In response to this problem, the technicians of Zoomlian Pump Co., Ltd. suggested that:
1. In the case that both the lift and the flow can be reached, you can check the seal ring to see if there is a gap in the seal ring. If the gap is too large, the volume loss will be large, and the efficiency of the pump work will be low. The machining level can well control the accuracy of the parts and the balance of the impeller, and the assembly can well control the gap of the sealing ring. If you want to restore performance, it is recommended to cut the impeller. For example, an IS50-32 centrifugal pump has an efficiency of 54% and a tolerance of -2% to 7%, but if you are 45%, it is an unqualified product. Customers are advised to measure it themselves.
2. You can try to polish the flow path of the pump, and paint, so the efficiency will be higher, but generally will increase by 2% -3%, not much.
3. Look at whether the gap of the impeller ring is greater than 1mm. If the gap is larger than this, it is recommended to re-drive a ring to improve efficiency.
4. Check if the pump body and the impeller are in a big way with your hydraulic model. If there is no problem with the model, it is recommended to redesign.
