Types of pumps and pump applications

15 Jun 2019Email

In different situations, a variety of pumps have been designed and manufactured, and different methods for classify different types of pumps.

Types of pumps:
1. According to the pump axis direction can be divided into horizontal, vertical, oblique

2. According to the split type of the shell is divided into radial split and axial split

3. Divided into single and multiple levels according to the number of stages

4. According to the form of inhalation into single and double suction

5. According to the pump form, each center support type, pipeline type, common seat type, divided seat type, movable type

6. According to the driving method, it is divided into direct connection, gear transmission type, hydraulic coupling transmission type, skin constant transmission multi-type and coaxial type.

7. According to the special structure is divided into liquid type, cylinder type, double wall shell type, pit tube type, withdrawable type, self-priming type, submerged type and shielding type

8. According to the axial force balance mode, it is divided into balance drum, balance disc, self-balance and balance hole.

9. Mainly divided into boiler feed water pump, circulating water pump, sewage pump, impurity pump, sand pump, slurry pump, mud pump, sewage pump, clean water pump, fire pump, process pump, booster pump, corrosion resistant pump according to different purposes.

10. According to different materials: cast iron pump, stainless steel pump, plastic pump, fluoroplastic pump, engineering plastic pump

11. According to the structure, it is divided into centrifugal pump, diaphragm pump, gear pump, plunger pump, reciprocating pump, vacuum pump, jet pump.

Pump applications

In the past, pumps were only used to deliver water at normal temperatures, so pumps are often referred to as pumps. However, the concept is not very clear now. In addition to transporting various kinds of normal temperature liquids, the pump can also transport liquids and liquid metals with temperatures up to 400-600 ° C. It can also transport liquid oxygen such as liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen at a temperature of 200 ° C; Granular liquids such as coal, ore, fish, beets, etc.

Pumps, as a general-purpose machine, are widely used in various fields of the national economy, such as irrigation and drainage in agriculture, and water pumping and drainage in cities require pumps. In all parts of the T industry, pumps are indispensable equipment. For example, in the power industry, boiler feed pumps, forced circulation pumps, circulating pumps, condensate pumps, ash pumps, water pumps, fuel pumps, etc. are required; in the mining industry, mine drainage pumps, water and sand filling pumps, water pumps, coal are required. Pumps, etc.; in the petroleum industry, mud pumps, water injection pumps, deep well production pumps, oil pumps, petroleum refining mills, etc. are needed; in the chemical industry, corrosion-resistant pumps, proportional pumps, metering pumps, etc. are needed; in the transportation industry, fuel is needed. Pumps, fuel injection pumps, lubricating oil pumps, hydraulic pumps, etc.

In chemical production, a large amount of raw materials and semi-finished products are liquids. According to the variety, the liquid is more diverse, such as water, petroleum products, organic solutions and various acids, alkalis, salt solutions. In order to ensure the normal and continuous chemical production process, the liquid material is pumped from one place to another or from low pressure to high pressure. The normal operation of the pump is the key to ensuring the normal operation of the chemical production. If the pump fails, it will affect the production and even stop the production. If the tube is likened to the blood vessels of the human body, then the pump is the heart of the human body. So the pump is an important general purpose machine in production
