The power of the pump with a head of 100 meters

30 Mar 2021Email

How much power does a 100-meter-head water pump or a 100-meter-head water pump need?

The power of the pump with a head of 100 meters ranges from 2.2KW to 300KW, which can be 2.2KW, 3KW, 4kw, 5.5kw, 7.5KW, 11KW, 45KW, etc. The power of the motor is mainly related to the water output (flow) of the pump, of course. There are many factors to consider, such as the type of water pump and the operating conditions.

The head refers to the height at which the pump can lift water. A head of 100m is a high head. Generally, households rarely use such a high head. If it is for industrial use, a multi-stage centrifugal pump can be used. The self-balancing multi-stage pump model DP12 of Zoomlion Pump -25x4, with a flow of 12.5m³/h, 3.47L/s, a head of 100 meters, and a required motor power of 11kw.

DP self-balancing multi-stage centrifugal pump is a single-suction or double-suction imported horizontal segmental multi-stage centrifugal pump. It adopts advanced hydraulic models and independently researches and develops high-efficiency and energy-saving products. It has symmetrically arranged impeller and rotor parts and is symmetrical at all levels. The axial force generated by the impeller cancels each other out, and the huge axial thrust in the pump cavity can be automatically balanced without the need for a balance disc structure, which breaks through the traditional structure of the multi-stage pump. It is used to transport clear water with no solid particles and temperature lower than 80℃ or liquid with physical and chemical properties similar to clear water. It is suitable for mines, factories and urban water supply and drainage projects, and is also widely used in petrochemical, hot water circulation, environmental protection industries, pure water transportation and other industries.

If you know the flow head, you can also calculate the water pump power calculation formula:

P = pgQH/(n1n2)

In the formula: P——power, W; p=density of water, p=1000 kg/m^3; g——acceleration of gravity, g=9.8m/s^2; Q——flow rate, m^3/s ; H——head, m; n1——water pump efficiency; n2——motor efficiency.
