Overview of Boiler Feed Water Pump Drum

The steam drum is the most important equipment for power station boilers. It is the connecting hub of the three processes of boiler heating, vaporization and overheating, and plays a role in connecting the previous and the next.

The water becomes qualified superheated steam in the boiler, and the delivery of the steam drum feed pump is required to go through the three processes of heating, vaporization and overheating. Heating from feed water to saturated water is a heating process; vaporizing saturated water to saturated steam is a vaporization process; heating saturated steam to superheated steam is a superheating process. The above three processes are respectively completed by the economizer, the evaporation heating surface, and the superheater. The steam drum is related to the above three processes. It needs to receive the water from the economizer; it forms a circulation loop with the evaporation heating surface; the saturated steam is sent to the superheater from the steam drum. The steam drum is not only the intersection of the three processes of heating, vaporization and overheating, but also the demarcation point of the three processes of heating, vaporization and overheating. Therefore, it is said that the steam drum is the connecting hub of the three processes of boiler heating, vaporization and overheating.

The energy storage and buffer function of the connecting hub and the dividing point of the three processes of boiler heating, vaporization and overheating. A certain amount of water and steam are stored in the steam drum, which has an energy storage effect. When the load changes, it has a certain buffer effect on the imbalance of evaporation and water supply, and the rate of change of vapor pressure. For example, when the load increases, the vapor pressure will drop. At this time, the water that is in a saturated state can vaporize a part of the steam by itself, so that the speed of the vapor pressure drop tends to be slow to ensure the quality of the steam. The steam drum is equipped with equipment such as steam-water separation device, steam cleaning device, etc., which can effectively carry out steam-water separation, steam cleaning, dosing, and sewage to ensure the quality of steam and boiler. Ensure the safe operation of the boiler. The steam drum is equipped with a variety of water level gauges, pressure gauges, accident drain gates, safety readings and other auxiliary equipment to monitor the pressure of the steam drum and the water level of the steam drum to protect the safe operation of the boiler.
