The difference between mixed flow pump, centrifugal pump and axial flow pump

18 Jun 2019Email

The shape and structure of the mixed flow pump are between the centrifugal pump and the axial flow pump; the pumping principle of the mixed flow pump and the high-speed rotation of the impeller both generate the centrifugal force of the centrifugal pump and the pushing force of the axial flow pump, and the mixed flow pump relies on this pumping with a mixture of two forces. The performance of the mixed flow pump is also between the centrifugal pump and the axial flow pump.

Compared with the centrifugal pump, the lift is lower and the flow is larger; compared with the axial flow pump, the lift is higher, but the flow is smaller.

The performance of the mixed flow pump is expressed in terms of operating parameters.

For example, flow, head, power, efficiency, speed, etc. At a certain speed, the flow rate is a variable, that is, if the flow rate of the water pump is changed, the head, power and efficiency of the pump change accordingly. The change law of this relationship is comprehensively drawn into several curves to represent, which is the pump performance curve.

The shape curve of the mixed flow pump is also between the centrifugal pump and the axial flow pump. For the high lift mixed flow pump, the relationship between the flow rate and the head, flow and power is similar to that of the centrifugal pump. In use, the closing valve can be used.

Start up, when the power is minimum and the power machine is safe. For the low-lift mixed-flow pump, the variation law between the performance parameters is close to that of the axial flow pump. In use, it is not appropriate to use the valve to start, but the valve should be started. At this time, the power is relatively small and the motor is not easily burned.

In view of the above characteristics, the mixed flow pump is suitable for farmland drainage in hilly areas.
