Rotor test

18 Jun 2019Email

The rotor test is mainly to improve the final assembly quality of the pump. Through this process, the tightness of the rotor can be eliminated, and the axial distance between the impellers can be adjusted to ensure that the flow center of each impeller and vane is simultaneously positive, you can determine the size of the adjustment sleeve.

Before the test, all parts should be measured to eliminate the obvious tolerance. For the measurement method of the radial runout of each component, refer to the previous content.

The inspection method of the end face sway of each component is as follows: the impeller is still inserted into the inner hole of the impeller by a special mandrel, the mandrel is fixed on the platform, and the impeller is gently rotated, and the indicated value of the dial gauge is the runout of the end face.

This jump value must not exceed 0.015mm, otherwise it should be repaired. as the picture shows. End face runout inspection of bushings and other components can be measured on a flat plate with a dial gauge. The runout value must not be greater than 0.015 mm.

Rotor fitting step

1. Install all the keys according to the number to prevent the sleeve and the key from colliding due to the wrong position of the keys.

2. Install all the sealing rings and so on according to the position, tighten the lock nut and record the distance from the outlet side lock nut to the shaft end, so that the pump is officially assembled as the basis for determining the tightness of the set parts.

3. When tightening the lock nut of the bushing, always keep the pump shaft in the same orientation (such as keeping the keyway of the shaft up all the way) and loosen the lock nut after each measurement of the rotor yaw. Re-tighten when testing again. The force at each tightening of the lock nut is based on the absence of clearance between the components and the looseness of the components.

4. When the components are mounted on the shaft, they should be sorted according to the magnitude and orientation of the respective sway values to prevent the accumulation of sway in a certain orientation. When measuring the rotor yaw, the rotor should not be tilted back and forth and not too much force in the axial direction. Finally, check the sway of each part of the assembled rotor should not exceed the following values: 0.12mm at the impeller, 0.10mm at the retaining sleeve, 0.08mm at the adjusting sleeve, 0.05mm at the bushing, and axial sway of the balance plate working face 0.06 Mm.

5. After installing the rotor components and tightening the lock nut, measure the radial runout of each component with a dial gauge. If the standard is exceeded, the end face runout values of all kit components should be checked again until they meet the requirements.
