Performance of mixed flow pump

The shape and structure of the mixed flow pump are between the centrifugal pump and the axial flow pump. The pumping principle of the mixed flow pump, the high-speed rotation of the impeller, not only produces the centrifugal force of the centrifugal pump, but also has the thrust force of the axial flow pump. The mixed flow pump pumps water by the mixing of these two forces.
The performance of the mixed flow pump is also between the centrifugal pump and the axial flow pump. Compared with the centrifugal pump, the head is lower and the flow rate is higher; compared with the axial flow pump, the head is higher, but the flow rate is smaller.

The performance of mixed-flow pumps is expressed by working parameters. Such as flow, head, power, efficiency, speed, etc. At a certain speed, the flow rate is a variable, that is, if the flow rate of the water pump is changed, the head, power and efficiency of the water pump will change accordingly.

The change law of this relationship is comprehensively drawn into several curves to show, this is the pump performance curve. The shape of the performance curve of the mixed flow pump is also between the centrifugal pump and the axial flow pump. For the high-head mixed flow pump, the change law of the relationship between flow and head, flow and power is close to that of the centrifugal pump. In use, the valve can be closed. Start, when the power is minimum, the power machine is safe.

For low-head mixed-flow pumps, the change rule between performance parameters is close to that of axial flow pumps. In use, it is not advisable to start with closed valves, but to start with open valves. At this time, the power is relatively small and the motor is not easily burned.

In view of the above characteristics, the mixed-flow pump is suitable for farmland irrigation and drainage in hilly areas.
