Operating procedure of split case pump
A. Preparation before starting split case pump
1. Pump filling and auxiliary line inspection.
2. The pump must be well vented and filled with medium before starting the pump. The shut-off valve in the inlet line must be properly opened.
3. Note: The pump is allowed to run dry! Open the auxiliary line (flushing, sealing, coolant, etc.) safely and check the flow.
4. Check the bearing lubrication section and shaft seal
5. Check the rotor steering
6. The motor should be turned in the same direction as the arrow on the pump casing. Check the steering of the pump before connecting the motor.
B. Start split case pump
1. If there is no check valve, close the outlet valve;
2. Open the inlet valve safely (if any);
3. If there is any activity, open the shaft seal and the external water source valve of the bearing;
4. Close the power supply;
5. When the pump starts to pump water, the pressure of the pressure gauge rises, and the outlet valve is slowly opened to make the pump work within the specified parameters.
6. The pump only closes the outlet valve when starting the manual and stopping, otherwise the pump will heat up or be damaged.
C. Stop split case pump
1. Close the shut-off valve in the outlet line;
2. If there is a check valve in the exhaust pipe, the shut-off valve can be kept open to obtain a back pressure;
3. Turn off the motor;
4. If there is any activity, close the inlet valve;
5. Close the auxiliary line;
6. If there is cooling water, wait until the pump cools down before closing.
7. If frost or long-term parking occurs, drain the pump and cooling chamber (if any), or take other antifreeze measures. If the pump is fitted with a packing seal, remove the packing. If the pump is treating sewage, to prevent corrosion during parking, drain and rinse.
