Multistage Centrifugal Pump Operation Process

1.1. Check before starting multistage centrifugal pump

1.1.1 Before starting the pump, check whether all bolts, pipelines and instrument leads are tightly connected.

1.1.2 Check all instruments, valves and instruments are normal.

1.1.3 The multistage pump shaft must be turned by hand before starting, feeling flexible.

1.1.4 Check whether the steering of the motor is consistent with the multistage pump.

1.1.5 Before starting the pump, water or vacuum must be injected into the pump, and the outlet gate valve and pressure gauge cock should be closed.

1.2. Starting multistage pump

1.2.1 Precautions when starting multistage centrifugal pump

  1. a) Observe the display of the pressure gauge, current or flow meter during start-up for adjustment.
  2. b) The pump cannot be turned on until the pump suction valve is fully opened.
  3. c) After starting, the discharge valve cannot be closed or close for a long time, otherwise the liquid in the pump will overheat and the wearing parts will wear.
  4. d) After the normal start, the outlet gate valve cannot be fully opened, otherwise the following situations may occur: ultra-large flow operation, increased cavitation data, reduced pump suction stroke, increased motor operating power, and over-current operation.

1.2.2 Steps to start multistage pump

  1. a) Check before start multistage pump.
  2. b) Open the suction valve of the pump and the valve of the water sealing water line, and perform water injection or vacuum to fill the pump with liquid.
  3. c) Start the motor. Then gradually open the gate valve of the discharge pipe to make the pump in the state of water discharge.
  4. d) Open the pressure gauge, and then gradually open the outlet gate valve again, according to the display of the pressure gauge, flow meter or current, adjust to the position of the specified parameter range of the pump. When the pump pressure does not come up, stop immediately to prevent the pump from idling. The wearing parts are worn.

1.3. Multistage pump operation check

After the pump runs, check the meter at regular intervals to determine whether the pump is working properly.

In addition, monitor the flow, head, temperature and lubrication of the pump.

With the operation of the water pump, the water level decreases. When the vibration and noise generated by the water pump increase, the outlet pressure and current decrease too much, and the water pump cavitation occurs at this time, the water pump should be stopped.

When the pump fails, the pump should be stopped and checked.

1.4. Stop multistage pump

1.4.1 Close the suction negative pressure gauge and the discharge pressure gauge.

1.4.2 Slowly close the outlet gate valve of the pump.

1.4.3 Turn off the motor.

1.5. Heat multistage pump

When the medium temperature exceeds 120°C, it needs to be warmed up before starting to avoid uneven heating of the material.
