Hastelloy
Hastelloy is a series of Ni-Mo based alloys developed to withstand hydrochloric acid corrosion.
Hastelloy A is resistant to hydrochloric acid corrosion below 70 °C, while Hastelloy B can be used to boil any concentration of hydrochloric acid, while also having good corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid or even hydrofluoric acid. Adding Cr and W to the Ni-Mo alloy to form a Ni-Cr-Mo-(W) type corrosion-resistant alloy, which is called Hastelloy C, can improve the corrosion resistance of the weld or heat affected zone of the alloy. 000Crl6Ni60Mol6W4 (Hastelloy C-276) and 000Cr16Ni 60Mo16Ti (Hastelloy C-4) alloy can resist oxidation, reduce mixed acid corrosion, resist pitting corrosion of chloride solution, and even have certain corrosion resistance to aqua regia. In order to resist high temperature fluoride molten salt corrosion and anti-irradiation and improve the welding performance of the alloy, 0Cr7Ni75Mol6 type alloy (Hastelloy N) and Hastelloy F alloy containing Nb and Ta have been developed to meet various salt solutions and strong chloride ions. The need for corrosion resistance of corrosive media.
