Coupling offset maintenance and measurement adjustment method

24 Jun 2019Email

The center of rotation of the two shafts connected to the coupling of the pump and the motor should be strictly concentric. The coupling must be accurately aligned and centered during installation, otherwise it will cause great stress on the coupling. It will seriously affect the normal operation of the shaft, bearings and other parts on the shaft, and even cause vibration or damage to the entire machine and foundation.

When installing a new pump, the verticality between the end face of the coupling and the axis can be left unchecked, but when installing the old pump, be sure to check carefully, and when it is found that the vertical is not vertical, then when looking for the equipment being installed, First, install the driven machine (pump) so that its axis is in the horizontal position, and then install the active machine (motor), so only need to adjust the active machine when looking for the positive, and adjust the surface of the active machine (motor) under the feet. Method to adjust.

Introduce two measurement adjustment methods commonly used in the maintenance process:

1) Measuring the different center of the coupling with a knife-shaped ruler and a feeler gauge and measuring the non-parallelism of the end face of the coupling by using a wedge-shaped clearance rail or a feeler gauge. This method is suitable for low-speed, low-precision precision of elastic coupling. device.

2) Using the dial gauge and the table or special alignment tool to measure the different center and non-parallel of the two couplings, this method is suitable for rotating equipment with high speed, rigid connection and high precision.
