Common failure causes of vertical pumps
The maintenance of vertical pumps is relatively simple, and the failure rate is not high. The following situations are relatively more common. In view of these problems, provide a little personal maintenance experience.
Vertical pump pressure becomes lower:
There are several reasons for low pressure that need to be investigated.
One, whether the impeller of the pump is stuck with foreign matter, if there is a pump, there will be jitter or abnormal vibration;
2. Whether there is any leakage in the outlet pipeline, this fault is sometimes not easy to detect, because the leakage is not easy to see;
Third, whether the inlet water volume is sufficient, mainly check the entire inlet pipeline and pump inlet for foreign matter.
Liquid leakage at the link between the vertical pump motor and the pump head:
There are two cases of leakage at the connection between the motor and the pump head. First, check it clearly, whether it occurs during work or when it is stopped.
The reason for the former is generally that the impeller of the pump has foreign matter or the liquid level in the tank is higher than the pump (the pattern installed outside the tank will appear)
The reason for the latter is that the outlet pipeline is higher than the motor and no check valve is installed (this is often the case in the exhaust gas scrubber). When the liquid delivery is higher than the pump position, the instantaneous return speed of the liquid will be filled quickly. It fills the entire pump cavity, and the shaft seal of vertical pumps generally adopts a dry shaft seal design, which has no sealing effect. The position of the dry shaft seal is where the motor and the pump are connected, so when the liquid level is higher than Liquid leakage occurs when the motor is in use.
Vertical pump motor is running but no pressure:
There can be three reasons, one inlet valve is not open or the liquid level is too low; the second impeller has been damaged; the third motor shaft is broken.
The vibration of vertical pump is relatively large during normal operation:
When the pump is working normally, the vibration is relatively large. This situation is that the impeller is stuck with foreign objects or the liquid level is high and sometimes low, and the inlet water is not enough (for example, the calibrated inlet is 65mm, but the actual is 50mm)
