Calculation formula of 316L water pump shaft power
The pump delivers a certain amount of medium to a certain height within a unit time is called "work". The power required to do work is called shaft power, expressed in kW.
The calculation formula of 316L water pump shaft power is expressed as follows:
P=0.163 Y QH/n
P: Shaft power kW
Y: the weight per unit volume of the medium kg/P
Q: Flow m3/min
H: total head m
n: pump efficiency%
The following figure shows the requirements of JS standard on pump efficiency. A efficiency is the highest efficiency and B efficiency is the efficiency at the standard flow rate. It is stipulated that all pumps cannot be lower than this value. When planning, use the B efficiency at the standard flow rate to calculate safer.
When determining the motor power, a certain safety factor can be added to the shaft power obtained from the formula. For pumps used in construction equipment, if the treated medium is clean water and the load fluctuation is small, the safety factor can be increased by about 10%.
