At present, most of the wear-resistant parts of domestic slurry pumps are made of high-chromium cast iron. The casting hardness of high-chromium cast iron can be as high as about HRC65. It is one of the best wear-resistant materials at present. It has been applied in my country since the 1980s to the 1990s. Carbide tools are generally used for machining. The machining process is complicated, the cost is high and the efficiency is low. Its difficult machining has always plagued many machining manufacturers.

Ceramic tool is a new type of material tool in modern metal cutting. It is characterized by high hardness, high strength, high red hardness, high wear resistance, excellent chemical stability and low friction coefficient. It can not only process some ordinary blades. Superhard materials that cannot be processed, and can improve production efficiency.

The use of ceramic tools in many slurry pump manufacturers proves that they can indeed solve the machining difficulties of high-chromium cast iron, not only can effectively reduce production costs, but also greatly improve production efficiency. The wear-resistant parts of slurry pump generally include sheath (worm gear), guard plate (front guard plate, rear guard plate), impeller, auxiliary impeller, pressure relief cover, etc. The following is a specific process analysis for the processing of some wear-resistant parts :

1. Processing with ordinary tools

Processing technology: casting - annealing - cutting - quenching

Brief analysis: This process has undergone two heat treatments, with a long cycle and high cost. For the guard plates and sheaths with matching requirements, they can only be processed directly without annealing, and only low-speed cutting can be used, and the production efficiency is too low.

2. Processing with ceramic tools

Processing technology: casting - cutting

Brief analysis: 1. Reduce two heat treatment processes, greatly reduce energy costs, and shorten the production cycle. 2. The use of ceramic tools can directly perform rough and finish machining without annealing, which not only reduces two heat treatment processes, saves a lot of energy costs, but also enables high-speed cutting, greatly improves production efficiency, and can meet the needs of less equipment. Production needs or the same equipment to meet higher production needs.

At present, there are many manufacturers of ceramic tools in China. There are many types of tool materials and large differences in performance. To solve the cutting process of high-chromium cast iron, the correct selection of ceramic tools is extremely important. Improper selection will not only affect your promotion.
