About the pump suction

14 Mar 2022Email

In industrial production and daily life, when water circulation, water transfer, dosing, spraying, spraying, flushing, irrigation, showering, transfer, lifting, cleaning and other applications are required, micro-pumps, micro-liquid pumps, Small water pumps, micro water pumps, micro water pumps and other micro pumps. An important parameter of micro pumps such as micro water pumps, micro liquid pumps, and small water pumps is the "suction stroke".

"Suction range" is also called "maximum self-priming height" and can also be understood as "self-priming degree". That is, the maximum height that the micro pump can automatically suck up water without adding water is the vertical distance between the pumping port and the liquid surface to be pumped.

Generally, when the water source is lower than or equal to the placement position of the pump, the pump needs to have self-priming ability. For example, when traveling outdoors, it is necessary to extract water from the river. It is best to use a micro-pump with self-priming ability (it is impossible for people to run into the river and add some water to the water inlet pipe). Or the pumped liquid is corrosive, and it is inconvenient to add water and so on.

For example: BSP series, the volume is not large, but the suction lift can reach 4 meters, and indeed it can reach 4 meters without water diversion, which is relatively high among micro-pumps.

There is also a CSP series, the suction range can also reach 2 meters.

In the micro water pump, not all pumps have the self-priming ability "suction stroke".

Some centrifugal pumps have no self-priming ability, and water must be added for the first use. Although some micro-pumps also have self-priming ability, the standard "suction stroke" is often different from the vertical height of the water that can be pumped under the condition of "all air in the water inlet pipe", and may even be less than half. Therefore, when selecting a pump, the suction stroke is a more important parameter.
