Selection of Petrochemical Process Pump Standard
Selection of Petrochemical Process Pump Standard
1. Medium and light load centrifugal pump
Medium and light load centrifugal pumps refer to centrifugal pumps that can all meet the following conditions:
The parameter range should satisfy:
rated discharge pressure less than or equal to 1.9MPa
Pumping temperature (medium temperature) <225 degrees Celsius
rated speed (when the steam turbine is driving +5%) less than or equal to 3000r/min
rated head less than or equal to 120m
Maximum suction pressure is less than or equal to 0.5MPa
The maximum impeller diameter of the cantilever pump is less than or equal to 333mm
(1) Transporting non-explosive, and/or moderately toxic, and/or mildly toxic media.
(2) Axial suction chemical centrifugal pump manufactured by ISO 2858 and ISO 5199-1986, or GB5662 and GB/T5656, or ASME B73.1M/B73.2M standards.
Medium and light load centrifugal pumps generally adopt SH/T3140 standard. The requirements for materials, design, manufacturing and testing are lower than those of heavy load centrifugal pumps, so the reliability is relatively worse, and of course the price is much cheaper.
This type of pump can meet the needs of general chemical purposes, and is often used to transport non-explosive, moderately toxic or mildly toxic media.
2. Heavy load centrifugal pump
Heavy load centrifugal pump refers to a centrifugal pump that meets any of the following conditions:
(1) Unless otherwise specified, it is used for explosive hazardous media and/or extremely toxic and highly hazardous media.
(2) Used in applications where there is no explosion hazard, and/or moderately toxic, and/or mildly toxic media, but the operating conditions exceed any of the following limits:
rated discharge pressure is greater than 1.9MPa
Operating temperature (medium temperature) >225 degrees Celsius
Rated speed>3000r/min
Rated head >120m
Maximum suction pressure >0.5MPa
The maximum impeller diameter of cantilever pump >333mm
Heavy-duty centrifugal pumps generally adopt SH/T3139 and API610 standards. Heavy-duty centrifugal pumps are highly reliable and generally require a continuous operation period of at least 3 years (excluding wearing parts). The pump types involved cover three types of pumps, namely Overhung, Between Bearings and Vertical Suspended. Among them, OH1, OH4, and OH5 are only available when designated and manufactured by the buyer It can only be provided when the factory has proven to be experienced with this type of pump.
SVCN7 (single-stage horizontal pump) of FLOWSERVE, USA, 3700 (single-stage horizontal pump) and 3900 (pipe pump) of ITT/GOULDS, Sulzer of Switzerland and Dalian Sulzer Pump and Compressor Co., Ltd. ZA, ZE, ZF, ZU (single-stage horizontal pumps), ETL (pipeline pumps), UCW (single-stage horizontal pumps) from Japan’s Ebara Company and Garrett Ebara Pump Co., Ltd., and SJA (single-stage pumps) from Shenyang Pump Factory Horizontal pumps) and other series are all API cantilever pumps (OH2 or OH3), of course, not all the editions are the 8th edition.
3. How to choose the standard of centrifugal pump
The price and reliability of centrifugal pumps of different standards are quite different. Except for the occasions where the owner or the patentee specifically specifies the need to use a heavy-duty centrifugal pump, the standard of the centrifugal pump should be selected according to the device characteristics and working conditions in other occasions, so as to be economical and practical, but also to meet the requirements of the device and working conditions.
Condition 1 exceeds the following parameter range:
Suction pressure≤0.5MPa(G), discharge pressure≤1.9MPa (G), medium temperature≤225℃, rated head≤120m, maximum impeller diameter of cantilever pump≤333mm
Condition 2 When pumping explosive hazardous media
Condition 3 Pumping of extremely toxic or highly hazardous media
Condition 4 Pumps are not used in the equipment and the reliability of the pump is high
Condition 5 The proprietor or franchisor specifically specifies occasions where a heavy-duty centrifugal pump is required
Criterion 1. When condition 1, or condition 2, or condition 3, or condition 4, or condition 5 are met, the heavy-duty centrifugal pump standard, namely "SH/T 3139+API 610" should be selected.
- In addition, in order to reduce the cost of equipment procurement, it is advisable to use the standard of medium and light load centrifugal pumps, namely "SH/T 3140+ISO 5199", or "SH/T 3140 + GB/T 5656", or "SH/T 3140 + ASME B73.1M/B73.2M ".
Note: SH/T3139 and SH/T3140 are engineering technical regulations of the petrochemical industry, mainly refer to the international standards API610 and OSO5199, and combine the characteristics of China's petrochemical industry, the unclear content of API610 or ISO5199, and some disputed clauses Some new regulations have been added or specified.
