S series split double-suction centrifugal pump pipeline connection method

17 Jun 2021Email

The connection of pipelines is a key process in pipeline installation. The connection methods and installation methods of the open double-suction centrifugal pumps in the S series are different. Commonly used connection methods for split pumps include welding, flange connection, and socket connection.

1. Welding

Welding is generally divided into gas welding and electric welding. When the wall thickness of the double-suction split pump pipeline is less than 4mm, the gas welding method is suitable, while the electric welding is suitable for the double-suction split pump pipeline with the wall thickness greater than or equal to 4mm. For welding The number of layers is generally 1 pass for gas welding and 1-3 passes for electric welding. It is mainly determined by the thickness of the pipe wall and the width of the weld. In addition, the physical and chemical properties of the electrode should meet the requirements, and the current during welding should also be In the case of multi-layer welding, use a thin electrode for the first pass, and use a thick electrode for the second and third passes. In addition, it should be noted that the electrode should be dried before welding and the weld should be cleaned. .

2. Flange connection

With this connection method, a rubber gasket with a thickness of 2-5mm should be installed between the flanges of the double-suction split pump pipeline. Asbestos rope gaskets soaked in white lead oil are also acceptable. Generally, the gasket A handle is always reserved, so that the position of the washer can be easily adjusted during installation. Before adding the gasket, apply a layer of white lead oil on the flange to prevent any deviation. After the centerline and slope of the pipeline meet the design requirements, stabilize the pipeline and tighten the bolts.

Three, socket connection

This connection method is generally carried out against the slope of the groove. The socket of the pipeline should be forward, and the socket of the pipeline should be cleaned. To meet the needs of pipeline expansion and contraction, insert the laid socket cast iron pipe The axial clearance of 4-8mm should be left, and the clearance should be even. Fill the gaps with the linoleum rope. Each circle of linoleum rope should overlap each other and be compacted tightly. After tightening, the filling depth of the linoleum rope is 1/3 of the socket depth, and the outer mouth is filled with asbestos cement or expanded cement. The depth is about 1/2-2/3 of the interface depth, and it needs to be packed and compacted in layers.

The above are the three connection methods of the double-suction split pump pipeline. The method is selected according to the needs of daily work.
