Problems and maintenance of diaphragm pump

Diaphragm pump, also known as control pump, is the main type of actuator. It changes the fluid flow by receiving the control signal output by the modulation unit and using power operation. Diaphragm pumps are generally composed of actuators and valves. Using compressed air as the power source, all kinds of corrosive liquids, liquids with particles, high-viscosity, volatile, flammable, and highly toxic liquids can be exhausted.

Diaphragm pumps can be divided into three types: pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic according to the power used by the actuator. They are pneumatic diaphragm pumps with compressed air as the power source, electric diaphragm pumps with electricity as the power source, and liquid medium ( Such as oil, etc.) Pressure-driven electric diaphragm pumps. In addition, according to their functions and characteristics, there are solenoid valves, electronic, intelligent, and fieldbus diaphragm pumps. Diaphragm pumps have many types and structures, and they are constantly updated and changed. Generally speaking, the valve is universal, which can be matched with pneumatic actuators, electric actuators or other actuators. Pneumatic diaphragm pumps are now more and more widely used to be accepted by the public. There are many diaphragm pumps in many enterprises such as chemical, spraying, ceramics and other factories.

Diaphragm pumps can be roughly divided into two categories, one is electric diaphragm pump and the other is pneumatic diaphragm pump. Pneumatic diaphragm pumps are the most widely used. Common problems of diaphragm pumps:
A. Reduced traffic. This phenomenon generally has the following situations:
1. The wear of the inlet and outlet check valves (plastic balls) becomes smaller. Or there are strips, large particles jam the plastic ball. As a result, the material liquid at the discharge port is refilled when the material is sucked, and the material is pressed back from the material inlet when discharging. 2. The diaphragm is stretched and deformed for a long time, causing the volume of the material cavity to decrease. The third is black, the thick diaphragm is broken. The bottom bracket does not move when it is driven.
3. The pump does not move. There may be several situations for this phenomenon. One is that the valve core is severely worn and stuck. The second is the wear of the bushing of the bottom bracket. The copper sleeve should be replaced at this time. The third is that the screws at both ends of the center shaft fall off. Fourth, both diaphragms are broken. Fifth, the diaphragm pump is placed upside down or flat. The spool cannot be returned (first generation and second generation)
4. There are impurities or oil stains in the material. This is usually caused by a rupture of the diaphragm.
5. Leakage of import and export. One is that the screw is not fastened, the other is that the ball seat is deformed or the O-ring is damaged, and the third is that the pump casings at both ends are not inclined to the upper hole position, resulting in the two discharge ports or the feed ports not being on the same plane.

B. The pump is weak and the pumping speed becomes slow. This phenomenon generally has the following situations:
1. Air pressure decreases. First look at the pressure of the intake pressure gauge. The pressure value is between 4 and 7 kg. Then check the opening position of the air source valve. If the air source is opened and closed with a solenoid valve, check whether the plastic valve of the solenoid valve is damaged, causing the plastic valve to not be fully opened.
2. The muffler is blocked, and the air cannot be discharged quickly, causing the pumping speed to slow down.
3. Too much water or impurities in the compressed air. Block the air inlet after entering the valve of the diaphragm pump, or jam the valve core.
4. The upper and lower end caps of the air distribution valve are damaged and leaked due to the constant impact of the valve core.
5. The four sealing rings of the middle shaft inside the pump are worn and blown by air.
