How to prevent the sewage pump from being blocked?

Sewage pump is mainly used to transport urban sewage, feces or liquids containing fiber. For the medium of solid particles such as paper scraps, the temperature of the conveyed medium is usually not more than 80°C. Because the conveyed medium contains fibers that are easy to entangle or bunch. Therefore, the flow channel of this kind of pump is easy to be blocked. Once the pump is blocked, the pump will not work normally, and even the motor will be burned, resulting in poor sewage discharge, which will have a serious impact on life and environmental protection.

 The choice of sewage pump

  (1) Since sewage and wastewater contain a lot of solids and suspended matter, it is easy to block pipelines and wear related parts. Therefore, valves should be installed on the sewage pump outlet pipe and the self-filling pump suction pipe, and the pump should be frequently overhauled and switched on and off.

  (2) Sewage pumps usually choose submersible pumps, submersible pumps and horizontal centrifugal pumps. Each pump should be equipped with an independent suction pipe and run automatically; there should be a backup unit

  (3) The water pump output is related to the pump startup mode. When the pump starts automatically, the pump output is determined according to the design second flow; when the pump is started manually, it is determined according to the maximum hourly sewage volume

How to prevent the sewage pump from being blocked?

Why is the anti-clogging performance of submersible sewage pumps more and more valued? This is mainly due to two reasons: one is the increase in sewage disposal costs. Industrial enterprises are working hard to reduce the water consumption per unit of product production, which makes the solid matter and fiber content in the sewage higher and higher. The second is that sewage pumps are increasingly adopting energy-saving means, that is, the driving mode of speed adjustment, but speed adjustment cannot guarantee that the submersible sewage pump will not be blocked.

In view of the frequent clogging of sewage pump impeller by impurities, the method of clearing every blockage during the initial operation of the equipment is adopted, and the blockage shall not be removed overnight. Although this avoids the inconvenience caused by the stoppage of the sewage pump, the frequent disassembly of the pump body results in increased wear of the pump port ring and other parts, and each time the blockage removal will consume a lot of manpower. In order to change this situation, a carbon steel anti-fouling box was installed at the water inlet pipe of the pump with an inclination angle of 45°. Use a filter in the box to filter impurities again to avoid clogging. The cleaning staff shall clean the dirt blocking box 1 to 3 times a month.

After the implementation of this plan, a certain effect has been received, and the manpower consumption has been alleviated. There is a vent valve at the bottom of the dirt blocking tank, but there are still dead corners. After some sewage and impurities accumulate in the dead corner, it is easy to cause minor gas poisoning injury to personnel during cleaning, which is not conducive to safe operation.

There are two types of sewage pump rotor blades, namely swirling blades and cutting blades. These two types of blades are most widely used. The swirling impeller does not move in the conveyed medium. According to the principle of fluid dynamics, the medium to be pumped is guided to the pump cavity, and the pumped medium flows past the impeller. In this way, long fibers or solid substances in the pumped liquid medium are also pumped out. The cutting blade can chop up larger solid materials so that they are no longer blocked.
