Daily inspection and maintenance of stainless steel submersible pumps

24 Aug 2021Email

Stainless steel submersible pumps have excellent performance and stable and reliable operation. Each pump has undergone strict inspections before leaving the factory. Permanently lubricated ball bearings and high-quality mechanical seals operating in the oil chamber make the submersible pumps have the greatest durability. However, In order to ensure the service life of the stainless steel submersible pump, it is recommended that the unit be used for regular inspection and maintenance.

Stainless steel submersible pump inspection and maintenance

1. Regularly check the insulation resistance between the phases of the pump motor and the phase to the ground. The value should be greater than 2MΩ. Otherwise, the machine should be disassembled for maintenance (dry treatment), and the grounding should be checked for firmness.

2. The gap between the impeller and the tearing mechanism (base cover) is 0.3~0.5mm. After long-term use in the medium, the gap may increase due to wear. At this time, it should be adjusted. The method is as follows: Disconnect Power supply, loosen the fixing screws, and rotate the cover to an appropriate angle to restore the original gap.

3. The stainless steel submersible pump must be put into clean water and run for several minutes after being used many times to prevent deposits left in the pump cavity and affect the normal use of the sewage pump.

4. After the stainless steel submersible pump has been used in the specified medium for half a year, the oil chamber sealing condition should be checked, 10#~30# oil should be replaced, and mechanical seals should be replaced if necessary. The sewage pump used under bad working conditions should be frequently Overhaul. The oil change method is as follows: Place the pump with the screw plug of the oil chamber (located on the inside of the water outlet) facing down, release the lubricating oil, then clean the oil chamber with washing oil, refill the appropriate amount of oil (70% to 80%), and replace New O-ring and tighten the screw plug.

5. If water (milk emulsion) is found in the waste oil, clean the oil chamber and refill the oil according to the regulations. It must be checked again after three weeks of use. If the lubricating oil becomes emulsion again, the mechanical seal should be checked, if necessary Replace it (contact our maintenance department). If there is a replacement condition on site, air tightness test should be carried out after replacing the seal (air pressure is 0.5kg/cm2).

Technical maintenance of stainless steel submersible pump

In order to ensure that the performance of the stainless steel multi-stage submersible pump is intact, the submersible electric pump should be regularly inspected and maintained (once a year), and a maintenance record should be made.

①Turn the stainless steel submersible pump by hand to see if the submersible electric pump rotates flexibly, and check whether there is any looseness or water leakage in the pipes and joints of the submersible electric pump.

②Check the lubricating oil in the bearing body to ensure that the oil level is near the center line of the oil mark, and replace or supplement it in time as the situation requires.

③Check whether the submersible pump cable is damaged, whether the power supply and electrical equipment are reliable, whether the power supply voltage and frequency meet the requirements of the nameplate, and whether the deviation is within the allowable range of the conditions of use.

④After the stainless steel deep well submersible pump is installed, the motor should be started by jog, and try to see if the rotation of the motor is correct. After each shutdown and before starting up, the hot and cold insulation resistance must be measured to observe the change in insulation resistance.

⑤The lubricating oil of the stainless steel submersible pump should be changed after 100 hours of work within the first month of work, and the oil should be changed every 1000 hours of work thereafter. For water-filled submersible pumps, the upper and lower end covers, the skeleton oil seals in the bearing chamber and the lithium-based grease need to be replaced regularly to ensure a good lubrication state.

⑥ Adjust the packing gland frequently to ensure that the water leakage in the packing chamber is normal (about 60 drops/min is appropriate).

⑦ Regularly check the wear of the shaft sleeve, and replace it in time when there is a lot of wear.

⑧When the stainless steel submersible pump is used in the cold winter season, after stopping, the drain plug at the lower part of the pump body must be unscrewed, and the medium must be drained to prevent the pump body from freezing and cracking.

⑨When the submersible pump is out of service for a long time, it should not be allowed to be immersed in the water. The pump must be taken out of the well, and then all the pump body shall be disassembled and the water shall be wiped off. Coat the rotating parts and joints with grease and install them, store them upright at room temperature (the temperature should not be lower than -5°C during winter storage), and keep them in a dry, non-chemically corrosive place.
