Centrifugal pump's common faults and treatment methods

22 May 2019Email

In the water supply system, the centrifugal pump is in constant operation, and the pump is not working properly due to various faults. Changsha Zoomlian Pump summarized some common faults, the causes and treatment methods, and hope to provide assistance to the majority of users.

1. The centrifugal pump does not apply water:

(1) When the suction pipe of the centrifugal pump has air in the tube due to the slope, and the air plug has formed, the pump cannot continuously absorb water and cause no water. When there is a downslope, the slope should be adjusted and the air in the pump body and the suction pipe should be drained in time.

(2) The suction bottom valve is not strict or damaged, so that the suction pipe is not full of water, or the bottom valve and the suction port are blocked by mud and debris, so that the bottom valve is not closed tightly. After confirming the above faults, the dirt should be cleaned up in time, the bottom valve should be repaired, and it should be replaced when it is damaged.

(3) If the depth of the bottom valve is not enough, the pump will not be watered. The depth of the suction pipe in the water should be increased.

(4) If the water level in the water tank (water tank) is too low, the water pump will not be watered. At this time, check whether the water intake and water pressure in the water inlet system are seriously insufficient; whether the float valve, liquid level control valve, etc. are malfunctioning. The problem should be adjusted in time for the hydration time (such as hydrating with low-peak water at night), repair or replace the failed inlet valve.

2. Decrease the water output of the centrifugal pump In addition to checking the submerged depth of the suction pipe and the gas storage of the suction pipe, it is necessary to check whether the centrifugal pump impeller seal ring is damaged and replace it in time.

3. The centrifugal pump bearing is overheated. When the pump is running, the bearing temperature rise should not exceed 60 °C. When the bearing is short of oil or the centrifugal pump is not concentric with the motor shaft, the bearing clearance is too small, and the packing is too tight, the bearing can be overheated. At this time, the concentricity, the refueling, and the tightness of the packing gland should be adjusted.

4. Centrifugal pump operation vibration and noise are too large. When the centrifugal pump concentricity deviation is too large, large vibration will occur. Secondly, check whether the anchor bolt and the base bolt are tightened without looseness. For buildings requiring strict control of noise and vibration, vibration damping or vibration isolation devices should be added. When the depth of the suction pipe is too large and the water level of the suction pool is too low, the centrifugal pump will cause cavitation and increase the noise of the centrifugal pump.
