Types of centrifugal pump
A. Classified by numbers of impellers
1. Single-stage pump: that is, there is only one impeller on the pump shaft.
2. Multi-stage pump: that is, there are two or more impellers on the pump shaft. At this time, the total head of the pump is the sum of the heads produced by the n impellers.

B. Classified by work pressure
1. low pressure pump: the pressure is lower than 100 meters of water column;
2. medium pressure pump: the pressure is between 100 and 650 meters of water column;
3. High-pressure pump: The pressure is higher than 650 meters of water column.
C. Classified by impeller
1. Single-side water inlet pump: also called single-suction pump, that is, there is only one water inlet on the impeller;
2. Double-side water inlet pump: also called double-suction pump, that is, there is a water inlet on both sides of the impeller. Its flow rate is twice that of a single-suction pump, which can be roughly regarded as two single-suction pump impellers placed back to back together.
D. According to the combination of pump casing to classify
1. Horizontal split pump: There is a joint seam on the horizontal plane passing through the axis line.
2. Vertical joint surface pump: the joint surface is perpendicular to the axis line.
E. According to the position of the pump shaft to classify
1. Horizontal pump: The pump shaft is in a horizontal position.
2, vertical pump: the pump shaft is in the vertical position.
F. Classification by the way of impeller output
1. Volute pump: After the water comes out of the impeller, it directly enters the pump casing with a spiral shape.
2. Guide vane pump: After the water comes out of the impeller, it enters the guide vane set outside it, and then enters the next stage or flows into the outlet pipe.
G. According to installation height classification
1. Self-filling centrifugal pump: The pump shaft is lower than the surface of the sump. It does not need to be filled with water when it is started, and it can be started automatically.
2, suction centrifugal pump (non-self-filling centrifugal pump): the pump shaft is higher than the surface of the suction pool. Before starting, you need to fill the pump casing and suction pipe with water, and then drive the motor to make the impeller rotate at a high speed. The water is thrown out of the impeller by centrifugal force, and negative pressure is formed in the center of the impeller. The water in the suction pool enters the impeller under the action of atmospheric pressure. It is also subjected to the action of the high-speed rotating impeller, and is thrown out of the impeller into the pressurized water pipeline.
We usually say that a certain water pump is a multi-stage pump, which refers to the number of impellers. According to other structural characteristics, it may be a horizontal pump, a vertical combined surface pump, a guide vane pump, a high pressure pump, a single-side water pump, etc. So according to different terms, the name is different. In addition, it can also be classified according to its use, such as oil pumps, water pumps, condensate pumps, ash discharge pumps, circulating water pumps, etc.
Features of Classification Type Centrifugal Pump
According to the suction method, the liquid of the single suction pump flows into the impeller from one side, and there is an axial force
Double-suction pump liquid flows into the impeller from both sides, there is no axial force, the flow of the pump is almost doubled than that of the single-suction pump according to the number of stages, there is only one impeller on the pump shaft of the single-stage pump
Multi-stage pumps are equipped with two or more impellers on the same pump shaft, and the liquid flows through each stage of the impellers in sequence. The more stages, the higher the head. Place the horizontal pump shaft horizontally according to the direction of the pump shaft.
Vertical pump shaft is perpendicular to the horizontal plane
According to the shell type, the segmented pump shell is according to the plane part perpendicular to the shaft, and the segments are connected with long bolts between the segments
The casing of the open center pump is split on the plane passing through the axis line
volute pump is a centrifugal pump equipped with a spiral pressure chamber, such as a commonly used end suction cantilever centrifugal pump
Turbine pump Centrifugal pump equipped with guide vane pressurized water chamber
Special structure
Pipe pump pump is part of the pipeline, no need to change the pipeline during installation
The submersible pump and the motor are made into one body and immersed in the water
The submerged pump body is immersed in the liquid
The impeller of the canned motor pump is integrated with the rotor of the motor, and it is in the same sealed casing. It does not need to adopt a sealing structure, which is a non-leakage pump
In addition to the inlet and outlet of the magnetic pump, the pump body is fully enclosed, and the connection between the pump and the motor is driven by mutual suction of magnetic steel.
Self-priming pump does not need to be filled when the pump is started
The high-speed pump increases the speed of the pump shaft by the speed-increasing box, and the general speed can reach more than 10000r/min. It can also be called a partial flow pump or a tangential booster pump.
The inlet and outlet of the vertical cylindrical pump are at the same height on the upper part, with inner and outer shells. The inner shell is composed of rotors and guide vanes. The outer shell is the inlet diversion channel, and the liquid is sucked in from the lower part.
