What is the difference between the rated flow and the maximum flow of a centrifugal pump? Translate this sentence into English

In the performance parameters of centrifugal pumps, rated flow and maximum flow are two different indicators that represent different working conditions and the operating range of the pump. Let's understand the differences between rated flow and maximum flow of centrifugal pumps with the help of Hunan Lishengde Pump Industry.

1、Rated Flow: Rated flow refers to the designed flow rate of a centrifugal pump that can operate stably under normal working conditions. It is usually determined based on the design and performance of the pump, and should be maintained or approached during pump operation. Rated flow is a benchmark provided by the manufacturer to guide the selection and application of pumps. When the pump operates at the rated flow rate, its performance parameters (such as head and efficiency) are also within the design range.

2、Maximum Flow: Maximum flow refers to the maximum flow limit that a centrifugal pump can achieve. Exceeding this limit will lead to a decrease in performance, increased vibration, or even damage to the equipment. Maximum flow is an extreme condition for pump operation, exceeding which may cause problems such as excessive flow, abnormal increase in internal pump pressure. Therefore, when selecting and operating centrifugal pumps, it is necessary to ensure that the flow rate does not exceed the maximum flow rate to ensure the normal operation and high efficiency of the pump.

It should be noted that the rated flow and maximum flow of centrifugal pumps depend on factors such as pump structure, design, and materials. In applications, the working flow of the pump should be reasonably determined based on actual needs and process requirements, combined with pump selection and usage instructions, to ensure normal operation and efficient performance.
